Dear Public Relations Executive:
I am very pleased to announce that our next corporate peer group meeting will be held at the Greenwich Lobster House (2 South Water Street, 06830) on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 5:45 to 7:15pm. You can order from the menu and pay directly to the Lobster House. A small $5 fee will be paid to PRSA-WF to help the chapter administer the program.
The peer group consists of corporate PR executives and staffers only, no minutes are taken, and all discussions remain in the room. This forum has been set up to allow corporate public relations executives to meet with their colleagues in the region and engage in conversations related to the management of the public relations function.
Items for Discussion: 1. Corporate Issue Survey for 2010. 2. Other items of interest from members. 3. Possible Future Guest Speakers.
Please feel free to email me any suggested items that you want the group to address. At the meeting, you can initiate discussion of your own issues.
Non-chapter PR corporate executives considering joining PRSA are welcome to attend two Peer Group meetings.
I plan to facilitate the meeting. I am a former chief communications officer for Uniroyal Chemical and have held management-level public relations positions with Shell Oil. GE, GTE, and Sperry Corporation. I am past member of Arthur Page Society. My current job is Associate Professor of Mass Communication at Iona College and head of PR concentration. My recent book with co-authors Dr. Donald Grunewald and Dr. Giri Dua is Public Relations: A Primer for Business Executives.
